We’re seeking a talented and user-centric UX Designer and Web Developer with a primary focus on website design and rollout. You will own the website design, implementation and delivery process end-to-end. There will also be an opportunity to help drive the UX of our products going forward. You will work with senior stakeholders at Centripetal in this role.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in web development, graphic design, user research, prototyping, usability testing, and knows how to transform complex requirements into intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing solutions. A firm grasp of the latest design tools (e.g. Figma) and web technologies (e.g. WordPress) is essential.


Position: Senior UX/UI Web Designer and Developer, OpsDev

Locations: USA (In-person or Hybrid in Reston, VA or Portsmouth, NH; Remote from NC and select other states)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Website Development
    • Design, build, and maintain websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relevant technologies adhering to best software development practices.
    • Leverage WordPress and Elementor to create, update, and optimize website content, themes, and plugins.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
    • Manage the deployment and rollout of website updates, ensuring minimal disruption.
  2. User-Centric UX/UI Design
    • Design intuitive, visually engaging, and on-brand user interfaces that create cohesive digital experiences.
    • Build and maintain high-quality wireframes, mockups using Figma to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Conduct user research and leverage analytics to inform designs that enhance engagement, optimize conversions, and align with user needs.
    • Test and validate designs through usability testing, iterative feedback, and tools such as Google Analytics to refine designs for maximum impact.
    • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards and maintain responsiveness across devices.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with product/project managers, customer success, sales, and marketing teams to define and prioritize requirements.
    • Align user needs with business objectives to shape website content, product roadmaps and implementation strategies.
  4. Communication
    • Clearly articulate design decisions and concepts to stakeholders, bridging the gap between creative and business priorities. 
    • Foster open dialogue to build consensus and refine ideas.
  5. Design System & Quality Control
    • Maintain a consistent design language across all digital touchpoints.
    • Perform regular audits and usability testing to refine user experience and ensure brand consistency.


Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI web and mobile design and development
    Robust portfolio showcasing a user-centered design approach, cohesive branding, impactful results, and successful implementation of designs into functional web solutions.
  • Educational Background
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field preferable. Due to the unique hybrid nature of the role, degrees in IT and Software Engineering also qualifies candidates. 
  • WordPress & Web Experience
    Familiarity with WordPress is a must. Experience with any other Content Management Systems (CMS) to guide and influence website design and rollout strategies is also beneficial.
  • Design Tools
    Proficient in Figma or equivalent.
  • Research & Prototyping
    Skilled at conducting user research, interviews, requirement gathering, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, and creating flow diagrams.
  • Stakeholder Management
    Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • HTML, CSS & Web Development
    Good knowledge of front-end technologies to understand technical constraints to collaborate effectively with other developers.
  • Data driven approach
    Experience in A/B testing, analytics tools, and optimizing for SEO and performance is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail
    Ability to translate high-level requirements into polished responsive designs.
