Position: Cloud DevOps Engineer
Location: Galway, Ireland (In-person/hybrid)

Centripetal is searching for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to build out our Infrastructure As Code (IaC) and automate the deployment of software in a multi-cloud environment.  The ideal candidate should have experience with Terraform, Ansible and Bash scripting.  Candidates should also have experience with modern build tools and containerized technologies (like Docker).

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives. You will automate software deployments using cutting-edge technologies in a cloud-native environment. You will also be central to our cloud marketplace journey at the company. 
 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development and management of our global infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI).
  • Drive the overall direction of our CI/CD for the CIS division at Centripetal adhering to industry best practice.
  • Oversee software upgrades for internally managed software such as our database clusters including Redis and CrateDB.
  • Partner with the wider engineering team to improve our operational posture through enhanced monitoring and analysis of our cloud deployments. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Software Engineering Lead to efficiently allocate and manage DevOps responsibilities.

Experience We're Looking For:

  • Proficient in Linux system administration and Bash shell scripting.
  • Comfortable building images with Packer.
  • Expertise with at least one of the major cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experienced with Terraform and container technologies like Docker.
  • Experienced in building monitoring systems using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and a results-oriented mindset emphasizing code quality.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience with networking or cybersecurity fundamentals a plus.
  • Background in product development within a startup environment is highly desirable.

What Your Resume Should Flaunt:

  • At least 5+ years of Cloud Devops experience. The more, the merrier!
  • A B.S. or M.S. in computer science or related field - you've earned your stripes!
