Job Summary:
Centripetal is seeking a Director of IT to oversee and manage our internal IT operations. The responsibilities include managing employees within the IT department, overseeing the day-to-day operations, implementing strategic plans and ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives. Our ideal candidate has a solid technical background, hands-on experience and a strategic mindset. Previous leadership experience and the ability to handle budgets are essential for this role. The role ensures that the information technology in our company adds the maximum value to facilitate the success of our business. The successful candidate must understand network security and how crucial it is to keep the company safe from cybersecurity attacks.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all IT operations and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the executive team
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and systems
  • Lead complex technical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring feasibility, detailed planning, effective implementation, and seamless integration
  • Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to the executive team
  • Forecast, control and monitor IT expenditures
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
  • Lead, manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing feedback, coaching, and guiding professional development of individual staff members; planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Build out and expand data center, which includes vendor coordination, software and hardware purchasing, etc.
  • Work with existing and build out new data storage solutions
  • Build out and manage virtual infrastructure within our enterprise
  • Hands on networking including a clear understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as BGP
  • Manage desktop support for multiple platforms (Windows, Linux and Mac) including understanding endpoint detection and response
  • Work with cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure) and deploy cloud infrastructure
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform IT strategies and measure success
Requirements:
  • A BSc/BA in Computer Science or related field; MSc/MA a plus
  • 5 – 10 years of relevant IT leadership experience
  • Experience with information security in a distributed computing environment and familiarity with best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of server and networking hardware and infrastructure
  • The successful candidate should be a solution-oriented individual who is skilled in using data to solve analytical problems
  • The ability to think strategically and develop/execute corresponding objective
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Experience communicating to strategic and executive stakeholders clearly and concisely
  • Effectively communicate and make highly complex technical concepts understandable to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
